Makkiyoun Urban Developers participated in the fifth edition of the Real Estate Future Forum 2026, held from January 26 to 28 in Riyadh, as a Gold Partner, marking a presence that reflects its growing position within Saudi Arabia’s real estate development sector.
During the forum, Makkiyoun highlighted its role in shaping the Kingdom’s evolving urban landscape through the development of integrated communities that foster harmony between people and place. The company also showcased its approach to embedding sustainability within residential projects, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
As part of the forum’s program, Dr. Magdy Hariri, Chairman of Makkiyoun Urban Developers, took part in a panel discussion titled “Urban Design, Sustainability, and Quality of Life in Real Estate.” Speaking alongside industry leaders, he addressed the significant shift in the concept of modern living.
In remarks that resonated strongly with attendees, Dr. Hariri reflected on how residential expectations have evolved over the past two decades, noting that the focus was once limited to the quality of the home’s interior, often overlooking the surrounding environment. Today, he emphasized, quality of life has become an integral part of project design, transforming what was once aspirational into a lived reality.
He also addressed the challenges of balancing sustainability with economic feasibility, pointing out that one of the key hurdles lies in the availability of talent capable of driving innovation in urban design. He underscored Makkiyoun’s success in achieving a balanced equation that combines sustainable development with fair pricing.
Makkiyoun’s participation underscores its ongoing commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s urban transformation and strengthening its position as a global hub for real estate investment and innovation. Through the development of integrated destinations and communities, the company continues to expand residential and investment opportunities while contributing to sustainable economic growth.
Concluding his participation, Dr. Hariri expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, commending the efforts of H.E. Majed Al-Hogail, and highlighting the pivotal role of NHC. He noted that such collaborative efforts have been instrumental in positioning Saudi Arabia’s real estate sector as a leading model both regionally and globally.
